pARKERS MILL ROAD...

Stony Point Farm

My grandparents, Robert Powell  (Umby) and Hattie Powell along with their 6 children began working for the McKinney's, close family friends in Woodbine, Maryland as horse caretakers on Blarney farm. The families responsibilities consisted of delivering foals, exercising and grooming the horses to matured thoroughbreds and caring for the farm in it's entirety.

In 1962 When my father, was 10 years old, the family moved to Lexington, Kentucky  with the McKinney's to work on what is now Stony Point Farm on Parker's Mill Road and what we lovingly call, "The Country". As a child, I spent much time with family on the farm. I was never fortunate enough to work with the horses due to the family home being damaged and torn down after the passing of my grandparents by the time I was old enough to help, but the history is not forgotten and the legacy has continued and has allowed Focused on Forever to incorporate the family in it's vision!
